  • I saw a report of about the new “Worlds fastest Man” a title given to the man who holds the world record in the 100M dash.  The link said, click here to see highlights of his record breaking run.  How does one edit down highlights of a 9.74 second race?
  • Walking down the hall at work I am accosted by signs with factoids about the work being done by the United Way.  Now I don’t give to them due to some moral disagreements but the issues they discuss are volunteer groups keeping streets safe, calls to food banks, kindergarten kids in trouble, and I can’t help but think that if the church was doing its job these things wouldn’t be necessary.
  • The more I think about the quote “It is easy to sound prophetic from the margins but what we need is people who are prophetic from the center” the more I truly believe it.  It quote was from John Piper talking about the loss of the Gospel as the central theme of sermons in America.
  • I found out that “LOST” isn’t coming back until May but it will run straight instead of that crappy 8 week break.  And that it will only be going for 6 seasons, it is good to know that there will be some finality.
  • It is simply amazing how much paperwork you have to do in corporate America.  When the paper work takes more time than the actual work you are doing the paperwork for something is wrong.
  • “The Big Bang Theory” is probably the best new show I have seen recently, it seems that since I became a father I don’t want to watch Law and Order CSI or any of those more serious drama shows, and most comedies haven’t struck a chord with me but this show is great.  It will probably hit with the same crowd that watched “Frasier” because many of the jokes are based on intellectual and geek issues, if you get a chance check it out, if you really get a chance DVR it and pause it on the producers “vanity card”.
  • Sorry I have been out of blogging for a minute, our family has had a great deal of drama over the last week.  Heather’s purse was stolen our of our van at Blockbuster but a few days later the dufas threw out her wallet but missed the dumpster and it was found by the apartment manager so we got everything back but our cash and debit card which we had already canceled.  Ironically, most of the cash that was still in her wallet was our charity money so we decided God wanted us to give to this guy money so we are just thankful to have all of her other stuff back.

This article points to a great deal of factors that point to the consumer growth in America.  I can’t help but wonder if Christians have bought into this idea of stuff and bigger is better at the cost of the gospel.

Seriously?  This is what we have come to as Christians?  No wonder the world is laughing at the church.

  • I find it interesting that on “America’s got Talent” there are two Brits and one American determining if America’s got Talent.
  • The government as a whole refuses to allow people to suffer the ramifications of their bad decisions.  Stereotypically speaking the Republicans bail out ignorant businesses and the Democrats bail out ignorant individuals.  Why not allow people making bad decisions to serve as a lesson the rest of the country?
  • Why with such a promising future and all kinds of entertainment at his fingertips would Michael Vick be involved with dog fighting?
  • Researchers have discovered that a single grown moose can release as much methane as an 8077 mile car trip, will there be a call to eliminate moose for the sake of the environment?  Or will environmentalists have to admin that they just want to stifle humans.
  • Most people understand that a lot of money will buy you a better lawyer and hopefully less jail time.  But not it only appears that you have to be famous to have your time cut.  Nicole Ritchie only does 87 minutes of an already sad four day sentence?  It must be good to be part of that class of people, I wonder how long people will tolerate it.
  • I really wish Dr. No (Ron Paul) stood a chance at the Republican Presidential nomination.  He really supports what I stand for, but he won’t buy votes with taxpayer money so he probably doesn’t stand a chance.
  • I heard something today I had never heard before, music was pounding out of a car in the parking lot, not so rare you say?  It was Opera.
  • There are times when I just want to throw in the towel and move to a commune.  Really a farm where a group of people who are not a traditional family all live together produce what they need and just live a simple life.  What would that be like?

This article is well done but a little long, this is something that is a passion of mine, I believe I was probably one of those problem boys, and I may continue to be now.  If it wasn’t for Ron Sprecher (my track coach) and my love of running I probably would have dropped out.  It wasn’t that school was to tough, it was just boring, and in many cases pointless.  I got a D in geometry one semester because I didn’t do homework although I aced the tests, I just thought that was silly.  I obviously knew what I was doing, but I had practice until 6 and then worked 7-11.  I didn’t have time to waste.

Any way if you have boys in your life you should read this article.

  • Why is it that all the people who do these concerts to save the planet take their private jets that burn more fuel in one hour than my car does all year?
  • I am a little ashamed that my neighbors have made more active moves to talk to me than I have to them when I pray to God to help me practice hospitality to my neighbors.
  • How can liberal like Al Gore be so sure humans are the cause of our global warming when Pluto, Mars, and Venus are also warming?
  • Would it be worth it to most people to take a huge pay cut and hence a lifestyle cut to not hate going to work every day?
  • I have heard that a torture method used in WWII was to make prisoners dig a ditch and fill it back up making the men feel useless. Every night we clean up after our daughter putting her toys away and every day she wrecks the place again.
  • Why is it that people consider smoking a cigar or having a glass of wine a sin but gorging yourself at a buffet and is fine?
  • Is the Bible the only book we feel justified simply by reading without making any attempt to understand or digest what is has to say? I mean outside of high school lit class.
  • Why do I continue to work when it seems that the politicians are so anxious to take everything I have. If all of us who work hard just stopped who would pay for everything? Maybe we need a new Tea Party where we just all don’t go to work.

This is insane!!!

Have we seriously come to the point where any form of physical contact is considered bad?  Has anyone see Demolition Man, where they didn’t allow such a thing?  The world was turned into a giant wimp world.  Kids need to learn how to act properly and simply telling them no does not give them that opportunity, not to mention the studies showing how much people need physical contact.

This is another example of how stupid we are becoming as a scociety, people get hurt, people feel bad it happens part of life is learning how to deal with it properly we can not have a world that doesn’t offend anyone and still have freedom.
