Remember, remember the Fifth of November,
The Gunpowder Treason and Plot,
I know of no reason
Why Gunpowder Treason
Should ever be forgot.
Guy Fawkes, Guy Fawkes, t’was his intent
To blow up King and Parli’ment.
Three-score barrels of powder below
To prove old England’s overthrow;
By God’s providence he was catch’d
With a dark lantern and burning match.
Holloa boys, holloa boys, let the bells ring.
Holloa boys, holloa boys, God save the King!

It is an old poem made famous by the movie ‘V for Vendetta’ but this website make a good argument for a new 5th of November.

Ron Paul would be great

For those of you who don’t know Ron Paul is a congressman from Texas who should be the next US President. This little clip shows you why….

  • I saw a report of Foxsports.com about the new “Worlds fastest Man” a title given to the man who holds the world record in the 100M dash.  The link said, click here to see highlights of his record breaking run.  How does one edit down highlights of a 9.74 second race?
  • Walking down the hall at work I am accosted by signs with factoids about the work being done by the United Way.  Now I don’t give to them due to some moral disagreements but the issues they discuss are volunteer groups keeping streets safe, calls to food banks, kindergarten kids in trouble, and I can’t help but think that if the church was doing its job these things wouldn’t be necessary.
  • The more I think about the quote “It is easy to sound prophetic from the margins but what we need is people who are prophetic from the center” the more I truly believe it.  It quote was from John Piper talking about the loss of the Gospel as the central theme of sermons in America.
  • I found out that “LOST” isn’t coming back until May but it will run straight instead of that crappy 8 week break.  And that it will only be going for 6 seasons, it is good to know that there will be some finality.
  • It is simply amazing how much paperwork you have to do in corporate America.  When the paper work takes more time than the actual work you are doing the paperwork for something is wrong.
  • “The Big Bang Theory” is probably the best new show I have seen recently, it seems that since I became a father I don’t want to watch Law and Order CSI or any of those more serious drama shows, and most comedies haven’t struck a chord with me but this show is great.  It will probably hit with the same crowd that watched “Frasier” because many of the jokes are based on intellectual and geek issues, if you get a chance check it out, if you really get a chance DVR it and pause it on the producers “vanity card”.
  • Sorry I have been out of blogging for a minute, our family has had a great deal of drama over the last week.  Heather’s purse was stolen our of our van at Blockbuster but a few days later the dufas threw out her wallet but missed the dumpster and it was found by the apartment manager so we got everything back but our cash and debit card which we had already canceled.  Ironically, most of the cash that was still in her wallet was our charity money so we decided God wanted us to give to this guy money so we are just thankful to have all of her other stuff back.

Hillary has revealed her 2.0 plan for health care for our country along with every other democrat running for president.  When will people realize that government is NOT the answer to our problems but is the problem.  Every time the government tries to make things more affordable they get more expensive.  Look at college tuition, as more and more people have been able to get grants and government loans, the cost of education has been rising faster than inflation and in many cases the quality has gone down.

If the government gives heath care to everyone, it will increase demand for the product and that will increase the cost of the product making it more expensive for everyone.  But, who cares about the real results as long as you can buy votes from people who are on the take.

By the way I find it truly hypocritical that John Edwards is pushing the same kinds of issues when he is almost single handedly responsible for pushing OB-GYN’s out of his state.  As an ambulance chaser he pushed up the cost of having a baby without improving anything but his own bottom line.

I am really tempted to vote for Hillary just to hurry up the collapse of this entitlement system we have created, then maybe we can get back to actually being productive.

  • I find it interesting that on “America’s got Talent” there are two Brits and one American determining if America’s got Talent.
  • The government as a whole refuses to allow people to suffer the ramifications of their bad decisions.  Stereotypically speaking the Republicans bail out ignorant businesses and the Democrats bail out ignorant individuals.  Why not allow people making bad decisions to serve as a lesson the rest of the country?
  • Why with such a promising future and all kinds of entertainment at his fingertips would Michael Vick be involved with dog fighting?
  • Researchers have discovered that a single grown moose can release as much methane as an 8077 mile car trip, will there be a call to eliminate moose for the sake of the environment?  Or will environmentalists have to admin that they just want to stifle humans.
  • Most people understand that a lot of money will buy you a better lawyer and hopefully less jail time.  But not it only appears that you have to be famous to have your time cut.  Nicole Ritchie only does 87 minutes of an already sad four day sentence?  It must be good to be part of that class of people, I wonder how long people will tolerate it.
  • I really wish Dr. No (Ron Paul) stood a chance at the Republican Presidential nomination.  He really supports what I stand for, but he won’t buy votes with taxpayer money so he probably doesn’t stand a chance.
  • I heard something today I had never heard before, music was pounding out of a car in the parking lot, not so rare you say?  It was Opera.
  • There are times when I just want to throw in the towel and move to a commune.  Really a farm where a group of people who are not a traditional family all live together produce what they need and just live a simple life.  What would that be like?

The Best Quotes From The Last Year Of Ann Coulter Columns – Right Wing News (Conservative News and Views)

Some times I think she has to take the hit of saying what a lot of people are thinking but are to afraid to say.

So the New York Times reviews Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.  The nature of this review upsets J.K Rowling, the author of the Harry Potter series.  The NYT apologizes for perhaps having spoiled the books for all of the fans.

Where is the apology for releasing top secret information about the war on terror?  I am a pretty big Potter head but I am still waiting for the apology from the times for aiding our enemies in the war and perhaps putting more of our troops in danger.

Does the NYT really believe that then end of Deathly Hallows deserves more respect than top secret information?  But I guess J.K Rowling has more of a spine than our President because at least she took it to the times instead of just sitting back and letting it happen.
